why do some people slag off windowblinds
Friday, December 16, 2011 by craggywaggy | Discussion: Off-Topic
i was a member of virtual customs for a little bit, but had some problems using their themes, i'm a novice at this stuff, so decided to try windowblinds and i bloody love it, it's so much simple to use for people like us who have no experience, everything is done for you without having to mess with dll and such, creating your own textures and backgrounds etc is great and simple, but mention it on vc and your pulled to bits by some people, bloats your system , causes crashes, waste of money, its a crock of s..t, well their are wrong, using it i am impressed, some people on vc are arrogant and vain, treat you like its a crime to use WB.
SO THANKS FOR MAKING LIFE EASIER FOR NOVICES LIKE US

Don't tell them how much fun you're having or how easy it is. It can be our little secret.
+1
and thanks for making our computing more enjoyable and much better looking too!

sounds like a lot of sheep following what someone said to sound cool in the wb bashings.... really... they have to be ignorant of it's workings to describe it like that...
some people just have blinkers on no matter what you say.... so...just enjoy it yourself... and ignore them... I know who the winner is... ![]()

Once upon a time there was a system dll hack which had pretentions of being a Windowblinds competitor. It wasn't.
However that did not stop its 'creators' from spamming sites [particularly Deviantart] with fake Users all claiming WB was a memory hog, etc, ad nauseum.
For a time there [early 2000's] things were quite 'entertaining', but the reality was that not only was this 'competitor' in violation of Microsoft's TOU it was frequently broken by successive MS Service Packs, and was inherently inferior in every way to Windowblinds....![]()

thanks for the nice replies, it shows that there is better quality and more mature people on here, my wife and kids prefer WB also , we can all have different themes to our own liking , i am really impressed with it, changing the logon screen is so simple too, you don't have to reboot your computer 3 times like some, and then it still won't have bloody changed.
you pay for what you get, and this was money well spent, and will continue to purchase from here,

I question the integrity of that bunch anyway. Twasn't long ago that the head honcho over there blatantly ripped one of WC's master skinner's works and had the audacity to charge for it himself. He even made public note that it was based off of xxxxx's xxx windowblind, but better.
Did some searching today and it's gone, but it was still there a couple weeks ago after being out there for a long time.
You are MUCH better off here. Welcome!

Welcome to the WC Universe where all things that can be skinned usually are and we got the Galleries to prove it! lol
Hiya craggywaggy ..... welcome to Wincustomize, you're gonna love it here. Pay no attention to the dinkleberries out there. They wouldn't know a good skin if it got up and bit them right in the ___________ fill in the blank.

It warms my heart to read this. That's one of the reasons I try to stay away from certain places that I won't mention Deviantart, Neowin
There are a ton of WB haters out there and I say to them.....go ahead and hack your system if you want, I'll stick to something that's safe and works great!
Thanks and welcome to WC!

Totally agree with you. I was tempted to try vs a couple times in the past, but stayed with wb. So much easier and safer to use, and tons of talented skinners here rolling out awesome skins!

I agree, I did try out the msstyle patch a long time ago but it's really nothing compared to what WB provides.

My allegiance to Stardock and Wincustomize is evident. They are innovative, creative (redundant) I know, and most important, customer loyal. Frogboy and his team perpetually reach out to their customers for feedback, and to satisfy (which is a daunting task) their needs and wants. He and his team are sincere about meeting the wants and or needs of ALL of their customers.
Wannabe troll companies or people give me a chuckle. All I have to say is, Brad thank you for enhancing my life and many of my friends too.

I love WindowBlinds. It's the main reason I bought Object Desktop i the first place. I particularly enjoy the blinds that change the min/max/close buttons, as long as they stay on the righthand side.

Glad to have you here, craggywaggy.
Windowblinds doesn't alter your System files as 'other' software (msstyles and the like) do.
If you have any problems using Windowblinds, users/subsribers are a very helpful crew, and will try to aid you. If that situation should arise, posting in the Support Forum here for Windowblinds can get quick attention. When doing that, copy and post the info in the "About" tab in the Windowblinds Config window (where you can choose a "skin").
You can also send an email to [email protected] but don't reply to the 'autoreply" you will receive that will only kick your request for help to the end of the queue. Save that autoreply as it has your ticket number. Also, if you don't see a response after 24-48 hrs, check your email 'spam' folder for it. Only respond after an actual person contacts you. Remeber to put as much info in your request for help to speed up communication. Include that "About" info.
If you have had a msstyles type of app on your system, I would suggest running sfc /scannow as the 'Administrator' in your cmd. That will fix any System files altered by such apps.
Again, welcome to our Community.
