waiting for new updates downloader?
replacing Impulse
Monday, November 14, 2011 by Loxmyth | Discussion: New Releases
I did read the message telling us that Impulse had been sold, and for now we need to log onto our accounts page in a browser to see new downloads.
The page lists current versions of everything, but does not tell me which ones need to be updated for me. To find out that I have to read through all the current versions, and then open the help window for each of my installed items to see what version is installed, and then compare those to the current versions listed on the download page. And then download and install each one separately. What a royal pain in the neck!!!
Are we ever going to get a downloader to give that function to those of us who are not gamers, but are long-time loyal users of Stardock? Do we have to wait months or years for that function?

I had to renew my account this weekend and get updates. To download them I tried Impulse. Which had to be updated to Game Stop, Impulse. Once I renewed, I returned to my software account in Game Stop. There were the updates for Windowblinds and Deskscape. Clicked update all.
Worked perfectly.

I believe frogboy's comments in the OP in Lightstar's link and the screen shots should answer your questions. I think it'll be better in some ways than Impulse.

"Anyway, at the moment we are in a transition period. Specifically, we are transitioning away from Impulse being your main download and update method. Going forward, you can access all of your registrations and download links for Stardock software by logging in here:
https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products
This will give you a list of everything that is on your account, along with your serial numbers and installer download links.

Once you buy CursorFX it does not have to be renewed IROKNESS.

You only need to purchase an upgrade when CFX goes to the next version number. And then, only if you want to. Now we have 2.10. When it hits 3.0, you'll have to upgrade in order to get it.
