WindowBlinds, XP, nVidia, Display Properties crashing...
Thursday, July 1, 2004 by J2EEGuy | Discussion: Stardock Software
When I remove Windowblinds and then try to use display properties, if I go to the "Appearance" or "Settings" tabs and try to apply changes I'm getting the message: "Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Now, I don't want to deal with Windowblinds and this point. What I want is to be able to [a] remove WB and [b] have all of the WB-specific artifacts left in the Display Properties dialog removed and [c] get rid of that message when WB is uninstalled.
Help please???

Uninstalling WB should be enough. However, if wbui.dll didn't uninstall
correctly, the problem you describe may occur. To fix it, run this
command from Start/Run:
regsvr32 "C:\path\to\windowblinds\wbui.dll" /u
Usually the path will be C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object
Desktop\WindowBlinds
After doing that, the integration with Display Properties should be
removed.

...see, this is how it works...if you don't know what something does (and he appeared to) then you ask. You can apply this to all things in life and a grand future will await you.
