CursorFX Plus 2.10 Update Released

Wednesday, November 2, 2011 by Island Dog | Discussion: WinCustomize News

If you need to change your bland or boring Windows cursor theme, come check out CursorFX from Stardock.  There are literally thousands of skins to download that can be applied with CursorFX.  CursorFX Plus adds effects, trails, resizing, color changing, and much more.

New in this update:

  • Fix for cursor disappearing over taskbar thumbnail previews
  • Fix for sometimes requiring a double-apply to enable a new cursor

CursorFX Plus is available for $19.95, and a free version is available for download.  Current users can update to the latest version from their Stardock account page.

Sure it seems to be very nice, but failed again to install for me, like previous versions...

always the same error dialog : "failed to access network location/Themes"

I really don't see what's wrong with this

any idea is welcome !

Where are your CFX themes? They should be in: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes

Have you moved them from this location?

Seems to me all .CursorFX & .CurXPTheme located in the default folder (XP SP3) ==> C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes are not correctly and all alphabetically listed in the CursorFX Panel

when clicking on a theme for it to display the preview, all i see is the preview of the cursor i'm currently using. trying to display the preview for the theme i may want to choose doesn't work.

Look in the root of your C drive.  If there is a themes directory, rename it to something.  Install CFX.  Rename the themes dir back.

Let me know if that works.

Can you post a screenshot?  Also, OS info, CFX version (just to compare, how you installed it, rebooted, update or new installation.

Thanks.

Thanks for reply

actually I never succeeded in installing CFX on my new PC, so I don't have any directory in users/public/public docs/stardock (except windowblinds and iconpacager of course)

so I tried Zubaz' solution and ....it works !!!

thanks a lot for your help ! You're the best

With all themes, or just some?

With all Themes.

Maybe it could be the Mouse Driver?! (Roccat Kone [+])

or is it because of 64-bit?

Is your mouse set to an unusually high polling frequency?  Anything more than about 60Hz on the desktop is overkill.

No, I have no high polling frequency. But my minimum option is 125 Hz.

Do you have any of the "extra" settings enabled?  Trails, effects, movement smoothness?
