Well you could always down with pants and sit on the rough end of a pineapple. 
It won't take away from the fact you've read all this drivel... and I dunno about short, but it'd be a sharp shock, if nothing else.
Alternatively, you could book into an asylum for some of that thar shock therapy stuff the shrinks are always raving about... but with the continuing rise in the price of electricity making it more and more a treatment for the wealthy these days, I'd recommend it only as a last resort.
Sticking your tongue on the terminals of a 9v battery might help.. but the pineapple would be more effective.

the second horse was actually in front, bodywise.... just the bob of the head...
in the old days, with no digital imaging... would have been a dead heat...

Probably a bunch of pathetic punters will top themselves over it. I didn't even venture outside to watch the drunks staggering back to the station - usually good for a laugh. Apocalypse Now is over for another day till Thursday...when all the choppers fly in again for the Oaks.
I used to love pissing off to Adelaide for the GrandPrix and avoiding all this horse[racing]shit.
I won't begrudge the day off tho....

I love Melbourne Cup week...used to turn up to Derby, Cup, Oaks and Final Day every year when I lived down there...great fun...
mind you.... was more civilised in those days... gone to pot with the marquees now... so commercial..

Nah, not really! It just wasn't one of my better days and I found myself struggling for words after a minute or two.
