Something in the theme you are running is clashing with your system. Try deleting each individual object until you find which one is stressing the sytem. I have run into clocks that use alot of sytem recources. After I delete it things run smooth. You should be using minimal sytem resources around 5-10% if I remember correctly. It's been awhile since I used DX. Try deleting any weather objects also. I have seen others have problems with them.

It depends on which OS you are running, Processor speed, Ram, and which theme you are having trouble with. There are a million different scenarios for your problem. It could be your system that is not working right, not enough Ram, slow computer, the theme, the objects in the theme, etc...

it not that my system is running slow or anyting, infact it seems to run just fine with DX, i just noticed that dx uses about 18meg of memory, which seemed like a lot to me. more just wonding what other folk are using in the way of memory then anything else. Juat a point of reference, I have a weather object, a calendar object, 5 "icon" objects, and a single "living" (it a character that my daughter drew and I animated).

Also incase anyone was wondering my spects:

AMD XP 2800+
1 gig ram
lots of hard drive space

If it is only using 18MB with a 1GB system, I wouldn't worry about it. YOu can try removing all the objects and add them one at a time until you find out the one that uses the most. My guess is the Weather object.
