Ran across this in yahoo news this morning. Took a long time for this scientist to get his due. Doesn't matter where you come from or any of that. What matters is that you do your thing and that's that.

You might also be interested in this one... about a great Australian Physician, the 2005 Nobel Prize in Medicine and intellectual courage. Similar in many respects.

By the way Uvah, that work on quasi-crystals resulted in the tenth Nobel for an Israeli scientist.

That's why I posted it. Never let be said that they don't grow 'em good there. BTW....in my high school many centuries ago we had a science teacher named Mr. Fishberg. This dude knew his stuff big time. Got me into studying physics and astronomy. Maybe that's why I'm so spaced out.

Nope. No bike sheds to hide behind. Little cubbyhole in the Prof's lab was better. Got to stay in out of the cold.
