October 2011 Desktop Screenshots
WoooooOOOO! BOOOOO!
Friday, September 30, 2011 by DrJBHL | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Yes indeed.... 'tis the month of scary... Halloween, witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and ghosts... and skinners. All manner of scary creatures.
Not being all that young anymore (especially today...
)... my desktop isn't all that scarey. But I love Karen's skins (k10low3). They show imagination and very considerable skill.
So, Zombie attack it is. Brain eating, staggering zombies to scare you and keep you from sleeping at night!
Trick or treats! Money or eats!
But don't forget your skin's, Wall's. CFX's etc. url's... or I.D. won't be putting candy in your plunder bag.

What gets me is this..
1. Most Halloween blinds and suites were made back when XP was the thing. Some still work, but not well if your running Vista or Windows 7.
2. Arrrrgh... why of why won't Stardock to allow other active skinners take over what seems to be a abandoned skin, where there the author has long since stopped skinning and there are no responses from them to even attempt getting their permission? If nothing else, if and when the author ever does come back, then allow whatever updates are made to be removed and just put something to let people know they are downloading a unofficial user updated skin? There are so many beautiful skins made for XP that could somewhat easily be updated for Vista and Windows 7.
One of my hands down favorites is MyHalloween by Xav73. A user submitted update for that suite for Windows 7 would be AWESOME.
3. I appreciate greatly Stardock/WinCustomize giving the RIP suite to subscribers. What I dislike is that you buy Object Desktop (which comes with WinCustomize access as a subscriber), but you have no access to free skins offered unless you also spend another $19.99 to subscribe to WinCustomize.
