OK....two things:
When you open SDC are you in fact logged in. (check your reg. info in the lower right corner and make sure that info is correct)
Do you have a firewall up and if you do, who's

What version of FX do you have installed now and what version shows available?

In SDC in the upper right corner click on 'Show Pre-release Versions'
