Skin Studio- skin errors message?

Sunday, June 6, 2004 by Richard Mohler | Discussion: Stardock Software

I keep getting a skin error message when I try to modify a windowblind skin. It never used to happen but all the sudden it is. Does anybody know why or have any ideas on how to fix this?

Says skin has some critical errors do you want to validate it.And when I push yes it does nothing. Never had this problem the whole time I had it.

Does this happen with only one skin? Or all you try?

If only the one skin, then it must have some really bad problem and editing in notepad may be the only answer.
If it happens in all skins, SkinStudio may have a problem. In which case, an uninstall and re-install should fix it.

It happens with all of them so I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

SkinStudio throws up this error if the Caption Height in System Metrics hasn''t been set to the same no of pixels as the Window Frame Top image

Look in Preferences, click on Program in the left tree........under 'On skin open' see if  "Check code correctness" is checked. If so, un-check it.

btw...... I'll get started on that little project I promised in a little while.

The latest build of SkinStudio asks if you want to save when it finds a critical error. After you say yes, click on the analyze tab, then double-click on any error there to go to where it needs to be fixed.

Different Issue....
A recurring error, that comes back even after going into the script and deleting it, when you delete and validate it''s fine. When you save and re-open the skin the error comes back, is the ''IgnoreDialogBitmap'' not supported error. I think you can just ignore it and it doesn''t affect anything far as I can tell.

And you can do what Koasati said

I was wondering about that. Couldn't seem to find a way to get rid of it.

When I tried what Essencay said, it said top panel (or something don't remember what) value needs to be at least 36 it was like 23 so I changed it to 36 and everything seems allright now, on that skin anyway. Thanks
