A Thought Occurs

I'm about to start working on some Fett-esque drive icons (for the third time in as many days, because they're harder to make than I had anticipated), and I just realised that I might have to ask permission to make them in the first place. Will that be the case, or not? I'm not sure on this one. 
edit: Actually, I'm thinking that if the hard drives look okay(ish) I might make some folders to go with them. So would I be better off asking for a kind of blanket permission?

Well as far as uploading them for others to use, I'll wait and see what they look like then post a picture of them and see what the community thinks of them. If the community feels they're good enough to upload, so be it.
Would I need permission to show them in a screenshot? Does that count as uploading?

If you draw each image yourself, then you actually do not have to ask for permission at all. However, it would still be a good idea (and a courtesy to MikeB) to gain his permission IF you intend to upload your efforts. If these are intended for personal use only, then you can do what ever you want.
