How do I change the Nasty Bluetooth Places Icon?
Saturday, May 29, 2004 by Kyhlwch | Discussion: Stardock Software
I'm using the bluetooth software from Widcomm and it places a hideous icon on my Desktop with the caption My Bluetooth Places.
It's a system folder and rightclicking on it doesn't seem to give any option for customizing it or deleting it. It just sits there being ugly.
Icon packager changes some of hte other system folders, but not all of them. I can't seem to change the Windows folder for example.
How can I force system folders to change their icons when rightclicking provides no options?
thanks very much for any help you might have for me!

Make sure you have checked off Custom Files, and then apply the icon package again and see if that changes it

iconx basically pulls your icons up to a new layer and hides the origional desktop, and in doing so gives you a new functionality. it should also allow the icon to be right-clickable no matter what it is. if you get your hands on desktopx/iconx, turn it on and enable icon x. tell it you want to see your desktop icons. you should now have iconx functional desktop icons, and thus that system icon will be right-clickable. choose properties >> iconx properties >> external image. in theory that will override any icon.. but i don't have a system icon on my desktop to test it out.
