Need help with Youtube
Need some help with a Youtube channel
Thursday, August 4, 2011 by tazgecko | Discussion: Internet
Hi guys,
I'm looking to set up a Youtube channel for five organizations who want to show videos of peaceful protest actions.
We picked Youtube because it has more exposure than other sites.
The problem is that I will have to give the account password to other people so they can upload videos to the channel. This is far from ideal, as it will get media exposure and others in the community will seek to discredit material on the channel. Security is important and the less people that have full access to the account the better.
Is there anyway to set up an channel so people can upload Videos without having full access to the Youtube Account?
And does anyone have any ideas how I could setup something like this, is Youtube my best bet?
Thanks ...
taz

Try this
I've created a YouTube Account for my business, client, organization
Do you manage a YouTube Account for a business, client, or organization? If so, please read the following tips on selecting the Account's email address and additional information provided in our FAQ for business Accounts
but I agree with myfist0

Copyright is not an issue, all the videos will be made by the organizations, I will have to check on privacy law.
For them to make their own accounts seems a bit messy ...
What I was thinking was to create a Dropbox account where they can upload the files and I will transfer them onto Youtube.
In that way they will be responsible for their own people and I can act as a gatekeeper.
Thanks for the input. I'm still open for suggestions

I would not give anyone the password. Create the main account with a name like PeacefulProtester and the other guys use PeacefulProtester1 & PeacefulProtester2 etc.
Once the accounts are set up you can link the accounts using friends and everyone can upload their own videos and you can show them on the main channel with favourites and/or playlists. Or have them send the video to main account holder and the main can upload. You can also download your friends youtube video and upload to your account as long as there is permission. Rebels often upload a video to many accounts to make sure it is hard for the damn corporations to get rid of it.
If you share the password and someone uploads copywrited content, 3 strikes and the account is deleted with all videos as well. Be careful as people that don't like your videos sometimes try to claim copywrite even if it is your work and make you fight to have it put back up and the strike removed.
Sounds great, good luck.
