I tried it, but it still does not work well with Office 2007 Excel. When you resize a window from a full screen windows to something smaller like dragging it to the left or right to take half the screen it does not d draw correctly if you change tabs in your work book. I had this same problem in the previous WB I think it was C

I did submit this to support

I am wondering, I read everywhere, Stardock is going away from Impulse.

Impulse is also not recognizing my renewed Object desktop account.

So I uninstalled my Impulse.... An now I need it for a beta ?

I do not understand.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm from germany

I'm a bit confused, actually i'm always confused but that's another story.

Afew days or a week ago all I saw was it's OK to felete Impulse now as it does nothing for us anymore and we are waiting for another method being worked on. Now you say to use Impulse to download the update. Also on that post you provided a link to download OD programs. So I followed your advise and removed Impluse even though I was one that never had a problem with it of ever complained about it. However thought if it wasn't going to do anything for me, why keep it.

Why not just provide links to any updates till we receive a new download method. Jusy saying as this post goes against what we were told just a few days ago and that was it's OK to get rid of Impulse as it's of no use now unless you use it for games.

I am still using Impulse for updates. I hope they get  new method for getting updates. I am not holding my breath though on this, as historically SD has been notoriously slow in getting updates out on anything.

I was confused last night when I saw this update and another for Tiles show up in Impulse.  Yes I kept Impulse.  It would seem that 'Beta' releases or updates are still being done through Impulse for customizing programs at the moment.  This was confirmed talking with a Mod last night.

EXACTLY.. and I brought that point up in reply #3 of that thread, yet the conversation turned more toward looking for expirations, updates, etc, and we were pretty much encouraged to abandon Impulse for ODNT applications.

At NO time did someone say " You will need to continue using Impulse for Beta releases" nor did they say " We will provide special links for betas".

Also, if your subscription had run out and you renewed we were told that Impulse would not recognize this. Gee that kind of kills using Impulse for beta's doesn't it ( for those users )?

This is just a minor beta release for anyone who is still updating via Impulse.  It was said in other threads Impulse wasn't needed for downloading of release updates, meaning non-beta updates.

In the near future, beta updates will most likely be downloaded the same way full releases are.

I hope everyone kept impulse or you will not be able to update your tiles beta either

If you've uninstalled Impulse, no biggy.

Download it here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/download

Just logon with your same account info and get the relevant Betas you need and/or want.

Is there anything in this update other than the Thunderbird tweak? Thanks.

Even if (as mentioned above) you just bought ODNT or renewed an expired one?

Phoon, for the answer, please refer to Rosco_P's post  here:  https://forums.wincustomize.com/409931

I think all was explained.

DaveRI: I can't tell you more than is in I.D.'s OP:

This update fixes an issue with the latest Thunderbird update that some users may be experiencing.

Doc, I'm fully aware of that post. Without reading the entire thread again but rather just the OP it states

"I just renewed my Object Desktop subscription, and Impulse still says it's expired!"

Because Impulse is now owned by Gamestop, your renewal only affects the Stardock side of things, so Impulse can't know that you've renewed.  You will need to use the new download page to access the software.

Thus, one has no way to obtain betas if they are in such a situation...

Nice.

About the betas, I would just keep Impulse until a new update method comes out, most people used (and liked Impulse) for ages, I know it's not part of Stardock anymore but stil it's a good app in my opinion.

DanilloOc, I understand that, but it will not work under certain circumstances.

I'm just making a point here. People were told by Stardock that they could remove impulse from their systems and many jumped on that band wagon while everyone completely ignored the obvious.

That annoncement was premature for those that have had products renewed ( or new purchases ) and wish to use betas.

Impulse works fine for me, and should for anyone who subscribed, renewed, or ordered OD before the sale of Impulse to Gamestop.

Those who renewed/subscribed AFTER the sale of Impulse to Gamestop would need to use the new method.

That does NOT apply to the topic of this thread! Those that have renewed/subscribed cannot use impulse to even get betas as (according to the other threads) it will not recognize your renewed/subscribed status. Betas are not available with the new method. Hence, you are screwed with betas if you are in this situation!

Betas are not available with the new method
Some betas (like Tiles) are now available through https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products .  Others will get there.  It's a transition . . a process.  It'll be fine.
