Leopard Tile (Skinning Problem)

Maybe someone could help...

Tuesday, June 28, 2011 by Onklifiziert | Discussion: Skinning

Hey Guys,

I tried to create a Tile out of a Leopard Dock Graphic (.png) It's was from the Winstep Leopard Dock.

I tried to put everything together but i fail...

I don't know why it doesn't work

Here is a screenshot from the Dock and i want a Tile in that style with the same seperator.

Could somebody help me with that?

Thx,

Tom

When you say it doesn't work what exactly is it not doing? Is it not showing up? Too small, too big, offset too far or not enough...what? If it doesn't show up check to make sure both the name on the .png image matches exactly that in the ini file. Upper and lower case also matters as does the spelling. Do you a blank solid color (I use black) image called dock/tile size 256 x 256? That would also help. More info please.

First...you need to be using the correct .ini file for a tile. Second...you need to shrink the image down to tile size...and in doing so you will lose some of the graphics...also you really won't see much of the graphics since it is covered by an icon. Third...tiles don't use separators since they are only covered by one icon. What may seem like a good idea in theory...your just going to end up with a transparent tile.

Web knows his stuff. didn't even think about the separator part.

So, the first time the tile wasn't showing up. Well the only thing i want is a transparent Tile with the look of the Dock in the screenshot. At the moment i'm playing with photoshop maybe it will work any time...

Onk...one of the reasons I don't even make tiles,,,is when you apply them you see the icon more than the tile. They look ok I guess but it's just not worth the trouble to make them.

And if you have PS....open the dock bg your trying to fix...and using your elliptical tool at the top left of the tools...just cut out the middle and then move to 2 sides together...and sometimes it works out ok as a tile.

Then go to the dock background gallery and find a tile and snatch the .ini file out of it...then all you should have to do is tweak it a bit to your liking.

not really when you set " resize icon by percent=  45" Snow Leopard Tiles

and this is the code:

................................................................

[Info]
Name = SnowLeopard Tiles

[Tile]
Image = SnowLeopardTile .png
ResizeIconByPercent = 45;
OffsetIconByPercentX =55;
OffsetIconByPercentY = 85;
TopHeight = 0
BottomHeight = 15
.................................................................

...always playing with the "resize icon by percent in this case was = 50 Click&Drum

and this is the complete code for the Tiles .ini file

.............................................................

[Info]
Name = Click&Drum Tiles

[Tile]
Image = C&D Tile.png
ResizeIconByPercent = 50;
OffsetIconByPercentX =47;
OffsetIconByPercentY = 95;
TopHeight = 0
BottomHeight = 0

well those were just 2 extreme examples I mean the resize range is up to 99 %

here you have = 75  Blades Tiles

and the code is

.................................................................

[Tile]
Image = Docktile.png
ResizeIconByPercent = 75;
OffsetIconByPercentX = 50;
OffsetIconByPercentY = 50;

.................................................................

hope this helps !

Frankell... the recyclebin icon...^^^^^... I used to have the exact one but lost it when I reformatted  my drive. Do you have the name for it or a link. I'd like to get it back if I can.
