Apologies

Saturday, June 4, 2011 by c242 | Discussion: Community

Hi, if You don't know me here on WC, just read the next thread.

Otherwise I want to wholeheartly apologize for being such a jerk the last 1-2 years. Believe me, perspectives change a lot when you build Your own company and have to care for certain things Yourself. Most of You know me for my critiicism with Stardock and especially Brad, born out of a deep frustration what happened to my most loved Object Desktop apps or some just being discontinued. Well, I had to learn that this is how business works even more if You have a big anount of projects going on. I think I understand now that it is impossible to please everybody with a company like this.

As a 2nd note I was really sad to not being able to post not even in threads that moved my heart about people in need of good words I liked and share a hiostory with here. So I wrote a wholeheartly apologize note to Brad also, who was so nice to at least give me citizen status back here.

Being the dumba** I am I deleted all my submsissions here, which don't seem to be recoverable. So as a new start I submitted 3 of my works from this year. I have been doing a lot more but for private use or other people. Also I worked and am still working with DesktopX Pro to do corporate objects for 2 customers. All that still hoping DX will not die.

So after 10 years of being a member here I I'll try a reboot to c242 V2.0.

Hey Carl...hate to say it but I didn't even know you went anywhere! People come and go on here so often it's hard to tell sometimes. All I can say

is..."Don't sweat the small stuff...and it's all small stuff."  As long as you and your family have good health...the bills are paid...you have a roof over your head and food on the table...nothing else really matters that much.

I dunno that you were such a jerk... well maybe a bit, but your apology is..... orright, maybe a lot.... sometimes.... doesn't matter now anyhow... is accepted.

Hopefully you'll stick around this time.... cos getting shot out of the exile cannon tends to smart a bit.

Well maybe not the getting shot out part of it, but the landing sure is a doozy.

Anyhow, welcome back, Carl, may your stay here be an enjoyable one for us... you too.

Brad, I'm sure you are watching this thread.............Please consider restoring Carl's Journeyman status.

It would be a great move on your part and one that I would hope would receive whole hearted backing from the community..............He's a great guy and been very honest and gracious in his apology. We all open our mouths a bit too much when things don't seem right - sometimes when we don't fully appreciate the full picture. Time to let 'bygones be bygones' and show compassion. Please give his status your earnest consideration.

Thanks for listening.............Leo

Working on a corporate gadget at the moment. CEO wants to be able to see the same info on every machine and be able to work on every machine without having to seek for the most needed shortcuts but doesn't want to restrict the employes in what they want on their desk nor have a seperate sign-on All data/parameters is read from an access database different for each employee and is also fed with the most recent statistics about sales every full hour from ms sql.

You see, where I got 'inspiration' from :

Note that it contains testdata and portions blackened by me. Also weather and small portions are unfinished obviously. Gadget will also have a drop-area for shortcuts at a later state.

Thanks Leo.  If I will have to earn some trust again, that is okay for me.
