Invalid or missing MPEG-2 codec?
Tuesday, May 10, 2011 by 0sm0sis | Discussion: Animated Wallpapers
Downloaded some Dreamscapes, seem to work fine when I load them into Dreamscape. When I try to apply, gives me this error prompt and directs me towards forum:
"The dream may contain an invalid video type or a compatible MPEG-2 video decoder may not be present. Please visit here for more information..."
Suggestions?
Vista Business x64
ATI Radeon 4870x2
Up to date.

It sounds like you may not have a MPEG2 codec installed or a conflicting codec issue.
I don't believe that the Vista Business edition came with a MPEG 2 codec so I would check into that first.

download and install shark007's outstanding vista codecs application http://shark007.net/vistacodecpackage.html and as i notice your on 64bit install the 64bit components too http://shark007.net/x64components.html . not only will that allow you to use mpeg2, but also just about every known video and audio file format out there, and all through windows media player if you don't want to install other players. Good luck ![]()

You can probably solve this problem by proper codec installation, visit the Microsoft download center, download and install "Codec Installation Package"
