Dual Tripple Wallpapers

Tuesday, April 5, 2011 by benmanns | Discussion: Wallpapers

Hello,

i would like to talk a little over dual and tripple wallpapers and what you would think about the idea of implementing a new section for them.
with a Larger ( wide ) preview or a mouse over preview that would allow you to view them seperatly.
I doubt that iam the only one craving for dual-screen wallpapers out there, and i havent seen any ( many ) here on wincustomize.
We have so many good and talented wallpaper artist that im confused. Am im the only one having 2 monitors here on wincustomize ?
I think the idea of implementing this section or adding at least a dualscreen preview feature would be up to date.

Let me know what you think.

Nope.....try out Deskscapes. It handles static wallpaper as well as dreams on Dual Screens.

There actually are a couple dual screen walls in the library but there's not much in the way of uploads in that category.

I've managed a pretty decent collection....I just checked and I have 237 at 3200x1200 and about 2 dozen more other dual screen resolutions.

Lantec, your collection is static walls, correct?

As for dreams, I've done a few with dual screen in mind.

I've been taking a break from creating due to a few things that came up but I'm going to be getting back at it soon. Multiple monitors will be my main focus going forward since my desktop resolution is 3840X1080.

One thing you should know, the max video resolution for mpeg is 1920x1080 so all will have to be stretched to look right. I am able to create avi's at the higher res and the squeeze them down to 1920x1080. Once they are streached back to twice the width, the aspect ratio is correct. While this isn't perfect, it does work really well.

Starburst is one that stretches well....

Something I found that works well is matching up Dreams. The absolute best is your Alien Planet on the right screen matched with Cascade on the left screen. The Enterprise versions run well together (although at 1600x1200 they're clipped a bit) .Spyro & Spyrogyro...... Right now I use Lighthouse on the left and Ominous Horizon on the right....not seamless or a perfect match but they still work together.

it's over 300 mb that's a bit over my email limit.....most came from DA or Interfacelift....

Im using deskscape but i run widescreen monitors, and i always come across the streching problem when a duall screen wall is 3200*1200 while i would need 3840x1080.
I like dreams and the idea behind it, i must say i cant use them for me personaly it is to much happening on the screen maybe because im old fashioned.
Im used to static walls, the idea of getting two walls and drag them together to use them as dual wall is quite nice and i also do that but its hard to find a good match.
But back again to the preview section here on wincustomize would it be possible to add 2 preview forms ? one for dual and one for tripple screens just like the one we have for the dreams.Or would that increase server traffic and capacity to much ?
I dont want to sound unthankfull its just an idea, i have seen that on other pages and i think that would give that whole dual and tripple section a little more push to the start.
And for everyone thats looking for dualscreens i recently found a page that offers some for free:

http://www.ecardmedia.eu/r_dual_monitors_deluxe_photo_cards_27_moonwalker_2560x1024_wallpaper_1219.html

Its not for widescreen dual monitor setups but nothing you couldn´t fix with photoshop for personal use.

I use 3 monitors and been using a aweet program found on Komando.com, Johns Background Switcher from:

Lots of options, but no video at this time, but John is going to be taking another look at it.

As for DreamScapes, only my center monitor works in animation and the other 2 show only a still image if the animation

Bummer!

But, if I take a .wmv and set it as my background, then all 3 monitors will animate the same just fine. Its just dreamscapes that does not support multi-monitors in video loops, for me anyway.
