WC Community Skinning Project - Themed Skins
Saturday, March 26, 2011 by Philly0381 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
All the entries for the WinCustomize Community Skinning Project are fantastic and unique. It is easy to see that the skinners have spent alot of time and effort in coming up with their designs. No doubt the judges had to spend quite a few hours in looking at each one in order to make their selection. Each entry is by any standards a winner and the skinners should be proud of their hard work.
The voting ended in a tie between two skins. In trying to choose a winner the two still ended in a tie. So the two co winners are:
QED by Xiandi
https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/7361/
Neptuneby Vampothika
https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/7358/
I think it would not be fair for all the hard work that the skinners not selected did on their entries to not thank them for making an entry for the theme of the community project. I'm am sure that all the WindowBlinds will find there way onto the desktops of lots of folks. Thank you one and all.
Now that the selection is over it's time to open the project up to the community skinners. Themed skins can be made for any WinCustmize Gallery Library. Other then Wallpapers, Dreams and Screensavers all skins must use the graphics of the Theme. The three exceptions should compliment the theme.
If you wish to make a skin for the Community Project just leave a reply on this thread. I will update a list of skins and skinners as they are identified for each WindowBlind. Multiple skins for all library and multiple skins by skinners for the projects are welcome.
Once all the themed skins are uploaded I will put together a Theme Manager Suite.

A screenshot for GED has been added to the OP to show how the project is coming along. One desktop will not be able to hold all the skins.
A screenshot for Neptune will be added soon.
Remember, the project is open to all skinners. Why not join in and include your skinning talent and skills?

I still haven't heard from Kitty yet regarding Neptune smx and rainy. Can I upload without permission or is that a nono?

Uvah, since links for the graphics for both WindowBlinds have been posted here, and that fact that this is a community project I would say use a link to this thread or copy Vampy's reply as the permission.

Just making sure. I have the smx ready and the rainy. I'm not letting them go before I get permission. I just wish it would come already.

Say, I notice no one has volunteered to make docks for Neptune. I shall therefore volunteer.

True. It is an implied permission. The whole idea was that there would be peripheral skins made for the winning blind/s.
It was the point of the contest.
Getting permission wouldn't hurt, but is implied by her posting a link to graphics for that purpose.

Splendid. Report to barracks 00 forthwith. There you'll pick up your canteen and a jug of RnD's Special Home Brew. Used judiciously it has been known to prevent such things as doldrums, boredom, apathy and enhance one's ability to make fun of the world. Thank you for your time.
Neptune coming. Uploaded. Is the preview working? Because they aren't showing up after submitting. The one that happens before it goes to moderation.

Been working on some for Neptune as well. Trying to get Winstep themes and docks done for 3 different skins at the same time.
I will add you to the Neptune list WG.

Oh...and Karen...I know docks were done for your skin but I'm doing my own version...as well as a winstep theme for your skin.
I'll have a screenshot as soon as I have them close to finished.

I dont think there is any official permission needed in this case, but anyone making matching skins for my QED windowblind has permission to upload them whenever they are ready. ![]()
