WinCustomize Browser

Tuesday, February 3, 2004 by CaptainWin | Discussion: Stardock Software

I just updated the browser through SDC. My problem is that when I click on "Newest Additions" in "Skins and Themes" all that appears is comments for one theme, made by the creator of the theme, and no picture or listing of themes by others. Is this a bug in the latest update? The browser seems to work in other categories, although I have not gone through all of them, but this one.

No..shouldn't be a bug...try playing with the settings under 'Tools' and the setting icons at the top of the Skins and Themes page. Let us know if you can't get it running correctly and we can look else where for the problem...

The newest additions and updated skins list is now maintained slightly different so all new skins get shown, and not just a basic list of 10 or 15 like the site does. Use the Check for Skin Updates on the tools menu to do a manual check and if there are any new skins they will get added.

Sorry it took so long to get back, I had to go out of town. I did as you suggested yrag. Now what happens is if I left click on "Newest Additons" it switches from "Skins and Themes" to the "News/Web Browser" icon. But, if I right click on "Newest Additions" and select "expand all" it works. This is weird! Any other suggestions to solve this would be wonderful~

It sounds like, for whatever reason, your install of WC is wacked. Try hitting 'Update Skins' under the Tools tab. If you already did that or it doesn't work un-install WC Browser thru SDC, re-boot and on restart re-install thru SDC.

Yrag, I already did that. I will now uninstall through SDC as suggested. Will let you know what happens.

The bug your mentioning is actually a bug with existing installs where the shortpath has been set in the registry and wcb doesnt like that. Simply uninstalling and reinstalling through sdc as suggested will fix this.
