ObjectDock Show Desktop

Saturday, January 31, 2004 by nofreeshows | Discussion: Stardock Software

I want to put the Show Desktop program as an object in the ObjectDock, but I don't know the filepath of the program. Can someone tell me? (I'm using Windows XP, if that matters).

Open Notepad and enter the following text:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

Thanks! However, I made the .scf and it works if I double-click the file in the folder I put it in but it doesn't work in ObjectDock...

I'm no programmer but could it be something with the "[Taskbar]" part of the script?

The Show Desktop.scf file will work from any folder, even sitting on the desktop, since the Quick Launch bar is just a folder, you can grab a shortcut copy of the Show Desktop.scf and drag it straight to the objectdock
