Weight Loss Pills
Do they work?
Thursday, February 24, 2011 by JuniorCrooks | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Just curious if anyone has ever had any experience using this way of losing weight or is it just wishful thinking? I am not a big eater and I try to watch the types of food I eat but regardless I have got a little big around the mid section withing the last 10 years. Maybe it is an age thing or one too many cold ones or both but now I am wanting to get rid of the excess weight. I know you will probably say exercise is the best solution and I agree. In fact in my 20's I use to be a runner. The problem is now I have a bad knee so hitting the tread mill or even an elliptical trainer (Which I Have) is out of the question.
Any opinions or suggestions?

i took duromine once........bad decision, the indian doctor didnt bother to tell me that its not meant for people with mental illnesses like myself (and he knew it was on my file)
so 3 days later after not eating anything (duromine takes away your hunger) i had a full on psycho episode... not alot of fun....i was hauled off
to the hospital and finally they worked out why id taken a turn for the worst..
i will never touch another diet pill.......
but on a good note i have lost 10kg since december, ive been going on bouts of fasting which really help me mentally and physically.

This is all you need to know.

In 6 months I lost 60 lbs, beat type 2 diabetes, brought my blood pressure down, brought my cholesterol down from 210 to 130, and got off all medications. The only exercise I added to this was running a mile 4 times a week.

"The only exercise I added to this was running a mile 4 times a week."
So by the end of one week he was four miles away from the fridge......![]()

Back when I was still able to run, I'd take a back pack with a few snacks in it... just in case I got hunger pangs along the way.

uhm i had my educational training as sportssalesmen around 5 years ago and those pills your talking about are made to appease one´s hunger.
They swell up so you eat less.
They work but i dont recommend using them over a long period of time also in this product category you will find many scams or so called placebo´s.
like doc said you should talk to your doctor about this its the best solution cause a fitness center wont give you proper information about the effects.
Most of those trainers in these studios are untrained and have just a degree B licence.
I would recommend you to google a bit for tea...sounds strange but its the most effctive solution. Some of them have the same effect without beeing chemical nature.

Now you mention it..... ![]()
Yup, a Cabbage Patch Doll with the stuffing yanked out would be a good place to hide stuff...
... like snacks you're not supposed to be indulging in. ![]()

I'm 5'9" and 130 pounds, so I don't have to worry about losing weight. And on days I work, I probably consume around 3500-4500 calories. (and don't gain a pound!) That's because i'm on my feet all day and constantly burn calories all the time.
But besides the point, you could try eating less, or better yet, look at nutrition labels at the grocery store to see what you're REALLY buying. I do this, even though i'm not overweight, because I don't want to be sorry when I hit my 40's.
And as for pills. Don't even think about it. Pills and other "Unnatural Shortcuts" are nothing more than marketing gimmicks to see how gullable us consumers are to big business scams.
Exercise is the best way to lose and/or prevent gaining weight. Along with a healthy diet. The straightforward methods are usually more effective than gimmicky shortcuts like pills. Pills make us believe that it's OKAY to not exercise, and still manage to lose weight anyway. That's not how it works.

Same with those home delivered calorie controlled meals, that they advertise on TV, supposedly chosen carefully to meet your specific needs by a qualified nutritionist. What crap!
I have a friend who works for the food production comany that supplies meals to all the hospitals in SE Queensland [Oz]. He reliably informs me that those 'so-called' diet specials roll out of the same factory and off the same conveyor belts as hospital meals. And people are paying big bucks to eat hospital food??? Gimme a break.
And people wonder why I'd throw a drowning corporate exec an anchor instead of a lifebelt.

Just keep in that when you get "over the hill" it's harder to get the pounds off. You just need to watch what you eat. ![]()

I watch what I eat all the time. From the plate to my mouth. Plate, mouth, plate mouth. ![]()

Yeah, but sometimes I close my eyes tight then wait until that Doubly Creamy Peppermint Choc Chip Ice Cream has completely melted in my mouth... it just tastes better that way.

I stir my vanilla ice cream till it's smooth. Then it's not so cold and I can play with it. ![]()

What you really mean here is that hubby's goosebumps aren't so noticable before you get to lick it all off him.
Or is that the other way around,...

An, but the smart bloke taps her on the shoulder in the middle of the night and says: "Darling, I have a Headache."
She, still three parts asleep, says: "Well take an aspirin, then." .... mission accomplished.
Hehe, my first wife was a little deaf, and on those nights when a bloke wants to do what blokes want to do, I'd ask in a very soft voice: "Do you wanna go to sleep or what?"
Nine times out of ten she'd say 'What?" and I'd think all my Christmases had come at once.
