What Programs are use to make these awesome walls

Hi,
I am sort of a newbie and have always wondered what programs everyone uses here to make these amazing walls, screen-savers, ect...
I especially love the metallic look and swirling metal designs. I am sure there are a few out there, but for a beginner, what would you recommend.

art, unless the result is so astonishing that one could never tell it was done
in Bryce.
I thought so too according to the guidelines but we sure see alot of Bryce that, I personally, do not find astonishing! Perhaps it is time to rewrite the guidelines?
Those who believe generated images are the 'bees knees' would get their knickers in a knot if we were to summarily expunge them all, old and new alike....

Hi there Jafo, 
Thanks for your reply, I have at my disposal 3 x packs of software from adobe. These are Photoshop CS5 Extended, Photoshop Lightroom 3.4 and Creative suite 5.5 Master collection. So what would you guys recommend I install?
Art never was my strong point and I'm hoping that the software will be a lift to my thoughts and ideas. I'm aware that PS is pretty heavy duty software, I've installed tons of it yet never thought of using it til now but I'm adamant I'll get to use it effectively and get the best I can from it.

If you install the creative suite that has Photoshop in it I believe. What you can do is go with CS5 extended to start. I did the trial but I could never afford the full version. Way too expensive for me. However... for those who can I say go for it. you will most definitely not be sorry. Photoshop has tons of tutorials at many different sites and I tried some of them. Now...if Photoshop can make me look good that's saying something. Its a super bang for the buck so enjoy it. Me...I use Photoshop 7, a golden oldie and I have a few others I like to play with.

The most important point, however is that programs do NOT make 'awesome walls'.....'awesome artists' make awesome walls.
Programs are simply the tools used....and have exactly no intrinsic talent of their own....

neone6 ... a guy popped in here [WC] yesterday....worth you taking a look at his work.....name's Nuvem .... here and at Deviantart.com.
He is the very example of what I refer to as an 'awesome artist'.
A LOT of people could learn from him/his works....

Hey, Jafo....Exellent put ! They´re no wallpaper-"sequencers" if You catch my drift
Case in point. My very first submission was a wall I made entirely in MSpaint. Took me three weeks to do one pixel at a time....almost. It actually made the gallery, I was so proud of it. Now I make one and I don't even have to worry about where its going. I had some good ones but walls aren't my thing.

Some of us spend many hours, days, years.. learning the ins and outs of some very complicated 3D software.. for your viewing pleasure.
