No one is violating upload guidelines, I believe doc's comment was more of a suggestion and a possible workaround to the current issues with the site.. We do not require widget's and gadgets to be packaged unless the uploading for a specific theme would be excessive. 5-6 stretched out over a couple of days or even 5 at once for one day is acceptable. Tho continuing for a few days on up would lend pause for concern...

Some like to upload as a set, others do not. Typically tho most themes get a total of maybe 3 widgets 3 gadgets etc, as the typical is clocks calendars and weather,so rarely do we see a flood of them unlike icons which have a huge amount of them per theme.

I will give you another way to look at this. 

Stardock has a program called Theme Manager.  One of it's options is to build suites for a given theme.  When skins like wallpapers or docks are combined in an upload there is not a way to tell Theme Manager which wall resolution or which particular dock to download and apply.  If there is I haven't found it. 

One little change in how skins are uploaded will have an effect on how other programs are able to access them.  Everything is interconnected, you may not see the impact if you don't use all the software and options in them but each can be impacted by one relatively small simple change.

Now, that may keep me awake at night...lol!!

Here's another way to look at it: The site is MS based so expect nutsy things to happen.

I say, "I blame Doc." Then all becomes placid, peaceful and even Mubarak gets back into power. Just say, "I blame Doc." You'll see how good it feels!

I don't see an issue with gadgets/widgets being upped separately as they are stand-alone apps.  It's the way the MS OS handles them.

The daily upload limit is in place [for all] to help handle inadvertent 'flooding', that's all.

It's no great drama to have others [more than the five] separately accepted by the Mods, particularly in RND's case where he's fixing these old weather gadgets.

As they say...no harm...no foul.

I recently approved 30-odd relocations...all at once...for the new Dock background gallery....same thing applied....and if set by an admin/mod the effect of 'flooding' can be overcome by altering the upload date/s....

Just a quick reply to this...since it's gone the way of nitpicking now. If the option were there to actually have "subs" they would have been packaged that way...but since I can't do that with "Winstep" they each have to be uploaded as 1. You find a way to do it that way Jim and consider it done!

Steve, I didn't mean to nit pick, it was to make a point.

My Menubar DX has 8 substyles, 8 different DX themes, all zipped into one file. The weather for it is the same, 8 versions in one download. Winstep themes could be zipped in multipacks.

I'll make a deal with you then...pack all your widgets and gadgets into one package (not meaning widgets and gadgets together) and I'll do the same! People might not be happy without being able to auto install them from the site then but oh well.

Only a few people made the reference to violating any rules...yourself and RND. I made a point of calling this a "discussion" and never mentioned anything about rules or TOS's being broken...in fact this wasn't even about either of them. So...unless you specifically see that said and/or mentioned...please don't bring it up or even suggest it. It just creates a hostile environment.

That program doesn't install or apply docks...I figured you of all people who posts all these themes together on one page should have known that.

I'd like to see all the widgets and gadgets associated with a theme put in one package, and here's why: I have a folder with all the screenshots of things I download, as well as separate folders for each category of item. On top of that, I keep a written record (subdivided into categories) of each download. From a time standpoint, it's a real pain to have to download and catalogue everything separately. If, and when, I need something, it's all in one place. Not including a weather widget in a DX THEME makes sense, considering the fiasco of the past, but separating all the individual widgets/gadgets has caused me on many occasions to just not bother because I'm too lazy to go to the trouble, and I don't want them badly enough to do so.

I feel I speak for most here, As long as WC don't mind, we the users love your skins no matter how you upload them.

For some reason some Master/JM skins are going into the mod Q's.  Must be a glitch in the system somewhere.

I promise to try to be a tad less impatient. Shit happens, and all in all, the new site has grown on me and a bug here and there ain't so bad.
