Confused with SmartStartup
Sunday, January 18, 2004 by Hus | Discussion: Stardock Software
I was wondering what causes the pink box and how do I make it go away? I reinstalled Stardock Central...but that didn't work. I'm not even sure what program that is, I don't have anything set to load at startup besides DX. So, now I'm confused...any ideas?

The install was fudged up and I had to delete the folder mnanually, then rebooted, installed fresh...rebooted again.
So maybe it's a file in another folder that needs replacing? /Common Files/Stardock maybe?

Btw, wanna know why I dont dance? Well, I'll tell you anyway. Back in Junior High School, it was 8th grade dance, before we went to high school. I was always a badass in school, so me and my friends (naturally) managed to get a bottle of liquor that night...got really drunk. Then like fools, we got on the dance floor and started making asses of ourselves. I ended up puking my guts out all over the floor...and nearly got expelled. Ever since then, I don't dance.

My PC is all out of whack anyways, not just with ODNT...just bogged down with so much garbage I guess...maybe it's time for a reformat...

Hus-what are the other items in the startup folder in the start menu?Reply #37 Thursday, January 29, 2004 7:27 AM
WARNING: Always be sure to back up the registry before doing this hack!
Let's click the good ol' start button and press run. Type in "regedit" (without the quotes) and press enter. When it comes up, double click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Then double click on software, and double click on stardock. In there there should be a common folder and double click on it. Then double click on StartupManager. You should ony see DesktopX in there. Anything elese in there you delete.
