Object Dock Icons disappear

Every now and then icons simply vanish from my dock. I suppose I accidentally drag them off with my mouse, but it is a nuisance. Do others have this problem?

Do they do this even with 'lock dragging' enabled?

right click on an openspace on thedock. either at the very end or over a seperator. there should be an option in the rightclick menu that says to lock items
