Bug Report: ObjectDock 1.90 - Adobe Reader 10.0.0
Monday, December 20, 2010 by darylnagode | Discussion: ObjectDock
I have a dock at the bottom of my screen that shows minimized windows in place of the windows task bar. When I minimize Adobe Reader 10.0.0, it doesn't show up. However, any other windows show up properly. If I unload and reload ObjectDock while the Adobe Reader window is minimized, it will appear initially, but if I then restore and minimize the Adobe Reader window again it won't appear as it should.

The problem is with Adobe. My hate for Adobe Reader grows with each release. All the extra features are nice but at some point it is just too bulky for normal use. Same reason I stopped using norton antivirus long time ago. They protect you but at the same time limit your pc performance by like 50%. Anyways.....
In Adobe Reader, go to Edit>Preferences>General and UNCHECK "Enable Proteced Mode startup". Click OK. Close Adobe Reader. Next time you have it opened it shouldn't interfere with ObjectDock.

p.s. The adobe reader version I have is 10.1.7

snpiee, this thread is over 2 years old. Objectdock is up to version 2.x and Adobe Reader is way past 10.1.7. This issue is most likely solved by now.

Adobe Reader X has a sandbox feature which by its nature will break certain things which rely on interprocess communication. I suspect this is the problem here.
