Install

I'm new to Object Dock. How do you install the dock skins? Isn't there an installer like IP and WB?

Wow! Manuall install, like the old DOS days...how mundane! Why can't they create an installer like all the rest of the apps do like WB, IP?

Only sorts in that your zoomers tabbed and tiled dock are in same folders in background folders, I prefer to just drop folders of dock set in C:\Programs\Stardock\ObjectDock2\Backgrounds , this way the matched sets stay together. OD2 will sort them from there when you open config and select change background, they need not be in the zoomers, tabbed and tiles folder for OD2 to be able to sort them.
Very good question.
They did in 1.9, it was the dockzip file. Many did not like or use it as backgrounds were not installed to C:\Programs\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds but rather a new backgrounds folder that was in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\ObjectDock Library

OD2 does the sorting, as long as dock sets are in the backgrounds folder OD2 will show only zoomers and tiles in config when change background for a zoomer dock and show only tabbed docks when changing a tabbed dock background.

No there isn't.
There's an easy way and a more difficult (slightly) one. I like the latter because it sorts the docks.
Download the skin to a folder and call it ODskins. Open the zip and move the tabbed docks to C:\Programs\Stardock\ObjectDock2\Backgrounds\Tabbed. ... and the Zoomer to the \Zoomer section.
