Fire Fox is freezing
Connection is resetting
Thursday, November 11, 2010 by Uvah | Discussion: Windows 7
As I was typing this post the connection was reset. This happens suddenly and for no reason other than the page still loading at the time. Sometimes, more often now, FF will just stop working and I have to close it then re-open it. Pages load very slowly over several minutes and waiting to send a PM or respond to a thread is frustrating. Any ideas. I have the latest version 3.6.12 FF

Just came across this at Lifehacker: http://lifehacker.com/5696883/enable-bartabs-memory+freeing-features-in-firefox-4
Turns out you need a 'fixit' to lighten the memory load in FF.

Thanks for the link Doc. Looks like I'm gonna have to go after the beta version. I'll let you know what happens. If I don't blow me up first. lol

I am using 3.6.12 with no issues at all and have never had an issue with FF in any version except the beta 4.0 which so far is a POS IMO. Most definitely probably an add-on issue. Try to keep them to a minimum, if you don't need them or use them often, just get rid of them. ![]()

Which one is it? It is maybe or maybe it isn't. I'm so confused.
Doing that now with an uninstall then a re-install of 3.6.12 without the add-ons. If it works I'll take the beta and shelve it till the RC comes out. Or I just might play with it for a bit.

I think you'll need BarTab extension or do the tweak described in the article/vid.

How do I go about finding out if my Object Desktop has arrived at Impulse or do I have to dl Impulse first and why am I putting this in here. This is for another thread. Duh!
No more add-ons. I have the one persona from Mozilla, the same one I started out with, and that's where I'm staying. Pardon my saying so but the 'Dark Theme' for wincustomize needs some work first. I believe I said so before in another thread.

Hi Uvah,
Few tips:
Never run a theme and persona together, it's not designed to work together and has severe bugs.
Firefox Beta rocks!!! Enjoy it.
If you have trouble, disable all add-ons, then enable them back slowly, see which one in the buggy one.
Create a new profile and start again building your add-ons one by one.
Let me know if you need Firefox debugging, I've been doing it with my themes for a while and I'll be happy to help.

I run CCleaner all the time and this sort of thing has never happened before. Gonna go do some stuff. See if I can remedy the situation.
