How to set Startup Tab in Impulse
Wednesday, September 22, 2010 by LightStar | Discussion: OS Customization
How do I set Impulse to start up in the My Software tab instead of the My Games tab? I have the My Games tab hidden (and the tab is in fact gone), but Impulse still starts up showing the games even though the tab is hidden. I never play games and want Impulse to start in the My Software tab if possible, and if not, then why not make that a feature? Thanks. ![]()

Ditto.
Hey LightStar; in the past I have seen Impulse do this and some other funky little things, this was when I was running Beta versions, I now only run the stable release versions and never have any little funky things happen.

As an experiment, I added a tab then closed Impulse. When I reopened, it was back on the 'my games' tab.
Then, I moved the tabs around, putting 'my software' last, closed, reopened....it still opens on the 'my games' tab.

I have also seen this where Impulse reopens in tha tab you were in when you closed it or logged out. What I try to do is always log out in the Community Tab.
I wonder if it may have something to do with logging out or just closing Impulse? I always log out and it brings me back to the Community Tab when I reopen. ![]()

Only thing I can assume is that Stardock is pushing the games, in any way they can. ![]()

That wouldn't even be funny if it were correct. ![]()
I leave or close out Impulse as I identified above and Impulse always reopens in the Community Tab. When I close it out in another tab then it will reopen in that tab.

Thanks Philly, but it does not do that here, or for several other people evidently either. It is nice that it does it for you though. This problem has been occurring for ages now and I finally decided enough was enough and posted this thread.

I should point out that it does this in Windows XP 32-bit, Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit.

I'm using Win7 32bit, I have not checked it on XP or Vista.

Oh, I do have an XP system, works okay there. Aren't computers fun, they act up or work correctly, either way, you usually can not figure out why. ![]()

Would be nice to hear from someone at Stardock on this. Hint-hint. ![]()

If I open Impulse from the Impulse Now tray icon it goes to the Games tab.
If I open Impulse from a shortcut it will go to the last tab I had opened.

Just tested and can confirm this.

Yes! It works! Can someone at Stardock please make it so that starting it from Impulse Now does the same thing please? ![]()

Weird, for me it starts up in whatever the last tab I had open was. If it was the store, it opens to the store, if I was updating something it opens to the updates tab (even if there aren't any updates to install).
