Resource Hacker

Has anyone used Resource Hacker?

I tried using it to change a few AVIs in the SHELL32.DLL file. It appeared to change okay and I made sure I saved the changes. However, upon use of the XP functions which would use the AVIs, nothing was different. Went back in to Resource Hacker and the changes appeared to not have been made. I am quite certain I saved the changes to the \windows\system32\shell32.dll file.

Xp will auto-replace the system files that was altered from the backup. You should read up on how to alter system files and keep it that way.

You can use a program called "Replacer" if you're sure you want to replace the system file, it also makes a backup if you want to switch back. It can be found here:
