WindowBlinds 7.1 (Explorer Background)

Tuesday, August 24, 2010 by Disturbedcomputer | Discussion: Stardock Support General

I made 6 screenshots. I have Se7en Ult. 64 bit WindowBlinds 7.1 (273)

I made this ticket July 18, 2010  on August 10, 2010 I noticed that it was on HOLD.

Sent them an E-Mail to see what is going on still NO word.

They got all the Images in the E-mail and in an Attachment....

 SS-1

Is somewhat normal, as the text in the (Explorer window) to the right is good.

Notice in WB’s interface that Explorer Background is checked (NOTE I do not have it applied.)

As SS-2 show that. (NOTE the Skin that is applied is Aero Station 7) nothing to do with this skin

Other then it is made for Win Se7en.

SS-3 I have applied an (Explorer Background) (don’t matter which one is applied) 2 things wrong when I do apply it.

1) It didn’t apply the Explorer Background

2) The Text in (Explorer window) to the right is messed up; it’s the wallpaper and Explorer window bleeding through

If I move the Explorer window around the text that is somewhat good goes bad…

Example: from this SS-3 the ALIEN2010.wba would look like Aqueous.wba …

SS-3

SS-4 this skin is INVI 4V not made for Win Se7en does the same thing as SS-1 through 3

SS-4

SS-5 this skin is INVI E3 not made for Win Se7en and it does do it even when No Explorer Background is applied

But if I do apply an Explorer Background the text is still bad and none of them (the WB Skins) will not apply the Explorer Background.

Even WB skins not listed here A.K.A. all WB skins will not apply the Explorer Background

But not all will mess with the TEXT.

SS-5

SS-6 so now I applied Penthouse (A paid skin) and you can see it does the same as SS-1 > 3

SS-6

No matter what Skin I apply the Explorer Background in WB’s interface is checked and it is set to DEFAULT

NO Explorer Background. NOTE even with it set to Default some skins will have the text messed up in

Explorer window and some won’t…

What’s going on here, an idea’s?

It’s been doing this for some time now for at least 4 months just really getting annoying…. And Limiting

what skins I can use…

With NO help from Stardock support.  Are you puzzled? You should still reply to the E-Mail to let the Customer know what is going on.

I uninstalled WB and reinstalled WB and it is still here (Explorer Background) is checked as IF I have checked it on but I do not have it on and still will not apply one...

I was having a weird issue with the fonts in my FindeXer bar, then vstyler told me to open the skin in SKS, go to Backgrounds and delete everything in the code area for anything with glass, fixed the problem for me.

Probably a completely different problem since I don't use explorer backgrounds, but the weird text issue looks about the same.

BB thanks for the info

Probably a completely different problem since I don't use explorer backgrounds, but the weird text issue looks about the same.

I too do not use explorer backgrounds and it is checked on, on all Skins.

I don't know what FindeXer bar is and to do any of the other stuff like SKS I would have to do that to all my skins

just a note not all skins mess with the text but all skins have the explorer backgrounds checked on but NOT by me and I am the only user of this DISTURBEDCOMPUTER

I have the same Windowblinds build you do, except it's for 32 bit. My Explorer Backgrounds has been checked for a long time, even though I dont use it, and it's not applied. However, I don't have the text issue that you do. They could be seperate problems.

I think that "Default" should be "None".

That's how it's showing on mine...

If Support has you on 'Hold' a second email will put you back in the ticket Queue....unless they are waiting for a specific response from you.

they got it on   Sent: Friday, July 23, 2010 12:20 PM

then on August 10 2010 is when I seen it was on hold and resent my last E-Mail (Friday, July 23, 2010 12:20 PM)

and Added this down here
I was wondering what's going on, I have not heard from you or anyone since  July 23, 2010 about the problem I am having
and now I see that my ticket is on Hold..?

I will re-Attach the images and the info  PLUS put all the Images in a Zip too..
(Edited  added in this post here From and or as I did not put them in the E-Mail cause it did not look right after I seen it here... or sound right without From and or )

I think they just might be the same proplem even though you don't have the text issue, yet.

First option I have in 'textures' is 'none'....where you have 'default'....which suggests you maybe have a setting in your standard window options to 'show' explorer backgrounds....and that's over-riding WB's choices.

I haven't looked into it...but it makes a good argument...

Are you talking about Win7 Personalize ? or in WB's settings? here is 2 SS of WB's settings if it helps

DC: are you having this issue with Dulce as well? I did not add a skin defined explorer background to it.

Tick the "I want skins to be able to apply textures....."
Ticked or unticked on mine, it still says 'default', and the explorer backgrounds tab is still checked on all skins.

same here.

two of three (2of3) yes it is doing it with any skin only if I have an Explorer Background applyed some skins do it either way.

also see that it is only appling the Explorer Background to My Computer and not messing with the Text

but in C:/ and D:/ will not apply Explorer Background and is messing with the Text...
