I miss right-click too, but when I emailed stardock support to ask [a few months ago] , I was told that right-click had been abandoned, and would not be updated, but its features would be included in some future program.

that's a shame.  I really liked the program and miss it.

let's hear from others on this.  maybe if stardock sees a renewed interest in rightclick, they will reconsider.

I think the rewrite of RightClick was mentioned in another thread but I can't find it.

I think we just need to wait a little longer and be patient, yeah I know.

Started it is, but the real question is.... when will it going be completed....

As of now, RightClick is a retired application.  Before this decision was made, there was talk of possibly updating it to work on newer systems, but no schedule on this has been established.

The best/popular ones always goes first....
I'm not alone on saying this, but retireing/discontinueing RightClick might just be a huge 'mistake', IF there will be no future replacement.

Is there a 3rd party program that is skinable, other than Winstep, that can do the same job?  Not saying that Winstep is not a good program I was just wondering if there was something that could replace just the RightClick function?

So true. I for my part won't renew ObjektDesktop next April for the first time since 2001 if RightClick does not (in one form or another) re-surface. It was (in my opinion) the most useful and work-enhancing program that Stardock ever made, and unfortunately there is no real (Winstep is good, but to much for my needs) alternative out there (that I am aware of).

Hmmm, I might have to invest all of next weekend to read the Litestep manuals on "how to create a RightClick-Menu without changing the complete shell".

Yes, using Xtreme just as a RightClick replacement is a bit of a waste of potential. 

On the other hand, Xtreme is very easy to use and also fully modular, which means you can turn everything you don't want to use off and use just its ability to create customized menus with the built-in Menu Editor, activating them via user-configured hotspots (such as bumping a screen edge or corner with your mouse pointer, clicking a specific area on the desktop, etc...).

I know it's not the same, but for Firefox there's an extension called Menu Editor so you can at least fine-tune your right click while browsing. You can get it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/710/

When I changed computers last year I wasn't going to bother installing object desktop again. But I couldn't navigate without my Rightclick program. I'm sure Stardock could of fixed this application, but it was never really advertised much right from the start.  I guess there is more interest in Object Dock so thats where the resources go...its a shame. it was one of the best programs for something that seemed so simple.

As much as I loved RightClick,  and will surely miss it, I have been using PowerPro to create menus for years.  It isn't as easy as RightClick or as easily skinnable, but it still works with my Win7 64 bit and it's FREE!  (it also does button bars, macros, hot keys, messages/alarms, task scheduling, has built-in scripting and plug-ins!)

and no, I am not affiliated with the programs creator in any way!
