Win7 taskbar button glow effects
Saturday, February 13, 2010 by Bebi Bulma | Discussion: SkinStudio
I'm just curious about something...is there a way to enable the Windows 7 glow effects through SKS on skins that haven't been updated yet, a setting somewhere, or is it more complicated with more images and stuff? Just wondering if it was something I could go ahead and tweak myself. Thanks.

Well that doesn't sound too bad. Basically just open the taskbar buttons image and change the opacity?
On second thought, I'm just making a mess of things. Best to leave it to the pros.
Hope more skins get updated for 7, especially some of the Master skins/MyColors. *prods Lasse* ![]()

The glow effect is actually already there, just hiding behind the buttons. What you nedd to do is replace the taskbar button image with semi transparent buttons so that the glow shows through.
You'll also need to skin the section Mouseover Mask. This controls the shape of the glow effect (the color of the glow is defined by the app that is open at the time and cannot be changed)
The mask should be the same size and shape of the taskbar buttons and have the same amount of states. In essence, make a copy of the buttons and fill it with solid black.
