Anyone know how to get rid of the shortcut overlay on icons in Windows 7?

Did you know that if you hold down the CTRL key and spin the wheel on your mouse the icons and arrow will change size. I found that one smaller size allowed the icon to stay approximately the same size, but the arrow droped down in 1/2 its normal size. Much better. No external programs required.

that's entertaining, I hide my desktop icons but had to try this, real small to real big, great.

Not what I was looking for. I want the arrow GONE. That little proggy did the trick.

I've used other tweakers and the overlay always comes back latter on. Win 7 Home Premium 32bit.

Several methods listed here http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3606-shortcut-arrow-remove-restore.html including mention of where to find it in TuneUp Utilities 2010.
