Has Windows Update broken WindowBlinds?
Thursday, January 28, 2010 by Fuzzy Logic | Discussion: Stardock Support General
Since the last Windows Update I've not been able to apply new Windowblinds. The program appears to get busy, but then the skin remains the same, only on a reboot does the skin change.
Nothing has changed with my WB installation, so this must be to do with the last Windows update.

It would seem no matter what I do, Public and all the subfolders keep setting to read only, no matter how many times I changed them.
Yesterday I was having problems changing skins, reset Public and/or WB folder a dozen times etc. Today it's changing skins ok again...
Sigh... ![]()

I also have this problem, not all the time, but a couple of times since the update................AND as ever, windowblinds not drawing themselves correctly, ie some of taskbar dissapears, top frame dissapears. This is happening a lot, every day now.
Ive been using Windowblinds now for almost 10 years now, and for the past 5-ish, this happens. I build computers, have numeous operating systems / configurations..... and it still happens.
I really thought Windowblinds 7 would had put this to bed...

If you have parts missing like that it suggests you are running low on resources. Are you using any unusual addins like a replacement taskbar clock?
Which OS are you using?

I could understand low on resources, but as i said, i also have many computers.
My main pc is
Win7 64bit
6GB ram
3TB HDD
Intel 920 Corei7
Radeon 5850 1GB
********
Ram usage is 36%
CPU usage is 2%

kick ass system really. My other pc's have also been quite powerful beasts. Most of the problems started when per pixel was introduces, but probabl just a coincidence.
