New Deskscapes Beta
Thursday, January 14, 2010 by Neil Banfield | Discussion: OS Customization
This is just a quick note to let Deskscapes 3 owners know that the beta of Deskscapes 3.1 (3.09 BETA) is now on Impulse.
It adds in a couple of new effects (Black & White, Edge enhance, Canvas texture and Paper texture), a random dream option, subfolder support, folder based list filtering, icon transparency settings (advanced tab in settings) and a new feature for users with multiple monitor setups who have Windows Vista or 7 (not XP) thats worth trying out.

While it's saying 1/14/2010 in Impulse, it's not updating this as a beta, etc. I uninstalled the current version then install this dated version and it doesn't look like these are new files as they are all dated from November.

Same for me. Perhaps the beta will be up today.

A refreshed beta is out now (3.09[b].005). Apparently I fumbled publishing the build last night. Make sure you have show pre-release checked under Impulse's Preferences.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new beta solved these issues for me completely. As long as I create three versions of Photodream (just by copying and renaming), and then assigning each one to a different monitor, there is no explorer.exe performance hit, etc. etc.
My dwm.exe use is 10%-ish with three complete dreams playing on 30", 30", and 24" monitors. 8))))))
