HELP

extracting stills from video

i want to extract stills/jpgs from some of my videos so i can create some art effects - can anyone recommend a free programme that with extract?    i had one couple of years ago but lost it in a reformat and forgot the name

oh i downloaded gom player and tried to capture more than one image and it seems to only want to do one image, i have ticked all the boxes and set the limits etc

I have used it to capture lots of images, one at a time. it stores them in a folder with different filenames (letters and numbers). Just capture an image and save it, then hit play and capture the next. I saved around 50 images from a DVD in just a few minutes.

ok cynthia - i will give it another go, my original software captured individual frames so made it easier
