WB7 won't skin the task bar.

Thursday, November 12, 2009 by rustysam | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Recently I noticed that wb7 won't color my task bar.  It is always windows classic gray.

I am using windows7 on a 64-bit machine.  This happens on any and all skins.

I have kinda the same problem, but the taskbar get grey, when i try to apply a Aero Theme, not with a theme like Sublime by Stardock.

And I have marked the "I want to use Aero Frames but keep the rest of the skin". I didn't work when didn't mark this option.

My suggestion. Go into WB config. set to use the default windows Aero skin. Right click on the desktop, choose personalize, set the theme back to the windows 7 default theme, and try loading a windowblind again. I, and a few friends here, have found problems between Windowblinds 7 and the Windows 7 themes.  Worth a try.

Very true.

If you set your win7 theme to classic or similiar, it seems to override the WB skinning

Unfortunately, it was not possible to disable Windows Blinds 7, because it's icon was not in taskbar, where you could right-click and choose disable WB, and you couldn't terminate the proces via task manager. I get a message saying: "Access to process denied" (=translated from danish, as I'm using Win 7 Ultimate w/danish language pack), so I have uninstalled WB 7, for the time beeing, but thanks for your help.

You can also go to the Start Menu > All Programs > Stardock > Object Desktop > Windowblinds...... and open the same configuration window then choose the Aero skin at the far left side of the skins list and hit "Apply Changes".....windowblinds will no longer load at startup

Okay, thanks. I'll give it a try again and follow the other instructions regarding the problem with the taskbar not being skinned.

Hi All... Having the exact same problem in WB 6.4 running XP. WB has always worked perfectly until recently. Tried everything I can think of, but the taskbar and Start Menu keep going back to, I believe, the Windows Classic Grey theme on any WB theme i select. Any help would be much appreciated!!
