Impulse backup of Demigod OTT

Is it necessary for Impulse to create a 2Gb backup of Demigod just for a 712k update?
It just seems crazy that I am accumulating such large backups at every minor update.
I still have a couple of Tb storage free so it's not a big issue...

Um, it's turned on for a reason... 
What I'm saying is why is a 2Gb backup needed for a 712k update.

The purpose of that option is to archive your existing config before you apply something new. Either so that you can use that version at some later date or in case somethign goes wrong (NEVER!)
Demigod is 4GB on my rig. So a 2GB archive doesn't seem extreme.
