DX Widgets and Windows 7 Security

Can't open widget

Monday, October 26, 2009 by Mirsguy | Discussion: DesktopX

I am trying to load a widget. It's a new widget that Redneck Dude just built for my new "Tinted" theme. This widget works great on my Vista laptop, but my Windows 7 desktop doesn't want to open it.

I get a warning message that says that my "internet security settings prevented...(it) from being opened."

I've adjusted my firewall settings, my ie security settings, and I don't know what else to do! Anyone got any ideas?

It's probably UAC.....you can adjust it thru User Accounts in the Control panel

Tools > Internet Settings > Security > Local intranet settings > changes needed to run, read them all ?

Tools > Internet Settings > Advanced > Security > Allow files to run ticked ?, check others too

UAC too high ?

I got it fixed.

It was not a UAC issue. I had to manually edit the looooong list of ie settings down to a lower level. Very annoying.

Thanks all for trying to help!
