The case of the lost icons

After using Objectdock+ since it first came out, the other day all my icons inexplicably switced to the icon for text files. I did update Iconpackager to the latest beta version, and perhaps that was the cause(?), but this is really bugging me.
Reselecting icons for each tabed dock is a major process, but the real problem is that some icons will display in the browser properly (of .exe files), and display in OD+ correctly, others won't display their proper icon in the browser (text icon) and only display a text icon in OD+. (These files display their correct icon in MSExplorer). This problem has effectively made OD+ useless to me.
Any suggestions on how to correct things?
