Naked isn't as naked as before
Wednesday, July 22, 2009 by mickeko | Discussion: WindowBlinds
I updated windowblinds to the latest beta, and now the start meny isn't as transparent as it used to be:

Doesn't look absolutely dreadful, but it's not as pretty either. ![]()

I have the same issue with Butch's 'Clear Black... the 'All Programs' panel is now dark 'unseethru' black.
Me thinks it has more to do with WB than the skin... was transparent just prior to the update. ![]()

some issues from WB7 beta can't be fixed even in skinstudio.
but nothing strange, it's just beta.
I can't use W7 only because can't skinning this OS. ![]()
so, waiting for working WB7

There isnt(as far as I know)any reason to run WB7 on Vista yet.
What your seeing probably has to do with the new Win7 search results menu...which isnt on Vista.

So you're saying something in the lines of "wait for a version with new stuff in it, so we can have more bugs at the same time on Vista"? I don't agree. I think it's better to get the bugs even on Vista as soon as possible, that's why I run the beta. ![]()

To check it out I did a restore to a date prior to the latest WB7 Update. "Naked" lost the 'gray' left Start Menu Panel.
Looks like it's the Update which 'broke' "Naked" as well as "Clear Black".
Betas do stuff like that.

This is what happens when vStyler takes a vacation -- we all realize he's the instigator of the decadence, and in our shame, we cover up. ![]()

I'm not running WB 7 or Win 7, no sense in me trying to fix it on a beta version when it may be remedied in the final version.
When I am running WB 7 with the new.. Non-beta windows 7 I will do my best to update any errors at that time. Otherwise, I may be having to revert any fixes I have made.
As for now.. it was designed for WB 6 on Vista.

If you want to 'fix' it Mick, just roll back the last update. This should also be relayed to the devs.
Glad ter 'ave yer back on board, v. Hope you had some fun....and no sunburnt...errr...skin. ![]()

i talked to neil when this thread was started and was told the next update to wb will correct this issue. without inside knowledge, i'm guessing that update will be released next week. i'm hoping it is, anyway. i have personal reasons for that.
there's a certain skin i want to use but it won't be released until after the next update of wb.

Ok, WB7 updated and I don't have this issue with the start menu anymore.
The history file state:
-------------------------------
New UI
I don't see a new UI, my version still claim to be beta release 1.
If beta 2 has not been released that comment doesn't really belong in the history file, as it's more like a predicition. ![]()
Perhaps 'View History" should be 'Version Information' instead... It would make sense, and info about upcoming features wouldn't be out of place. ![]()
(I'll post the suggestion on the impulse forum too.)

Sometimes the history file is updated ahead of everything else!
The new UI is indeed coming with beta 2.

Dani says now there is at least some reason to run 7 on Vista...but I dont know why yet. ![]()

My reason is to help out in bug-spotting. The end product is meant to work on Vista too, so it makes perfect sense to report bugs that come up, even if the main work is being done for W7 support.

From the next beta there will be good reason to run WB7 on XP and Vista as well as Win 7.
