Converting Vista msstyles
Wednesday, July 1, 2009 by moneo2 | Discussion: SkinStudio
Hi! I wan to convert some Vista msstyles to use in WindowBlinds. I found that SKS 5 could do that but I can't download it anywhere from the internet. I could only find sites which gave me SKS4 under the name SKS5. I found the app MSImport but the link posted on this forum was broken. Any help?

I think if you check around, there is no software currently available to convert the Vista .msstyles format to .wba.

As far as I know Conversion development ceased at XP. Vista msstyles are not convertable.

To get SKS5 I think you either need to purchase it as a standalone or have/purchase a current ObjectDesktop subscription Otherwise there is a freeware SKS Standard (probably the one you've already tried), but I believe that is limited in function.
Also, as I recall, SKS5 imports/converts XP msstyles to WB's but not the Vista ones... the Vista ones return an error message in SKS5 stating the action can not be done/completed. I haven't tried in a while but that's what I remember from an attempt to convert a couple I found and liked at deviantArt.
