Just a note to say I may or may not be around much for a while.
Don't forget me
Saturday, June 27, 2009 by MouseGoddess | Discussion: Community
You know, I was raised by a single mother who was both mother and father to me. Always there for me throughout my life. Helping any way she could. She was my rock when I went through the diagnosis of cancer. More than a mother, she was a best friend to laugh with, shop with, cry with.
But she isn't crying with me now.
I lost my adored mother tonight.
Part of me is gone, and I will never be the same.

I lost both my Mom, sister, and cousin to cancer in Jan. 2008. All within a week. I know where you are and you are definitely in my prayers. God bless you and yours. ![]()

I just stopped by for a minute, trying to get my mind onto other things for at least a while.
But after reading the comments I've received I had to take the time to tell you what wonderful people you all are! Some of you I've only read some posts and maybe responded a couple times. and some of you I get into long discussions, or word games, with many posts. Some of you have even been kind enough to leave a comment on my logon designs. But regardless of the degree of involvement our interactions may have had, you have touched my heart with your caring and understanding.
I have no other family than my mother. No siblings or close uncles, or cousins. It was just her and I, most of my life. She'd say "It's you and me against the world!" and it was. I always talked to her about eveything. She lived here with me, and sometimes I'd sit in her bedroom and tell her about what I was doing online at the time. That included these boards!
Who will I tell all about it now? ![]()
Thank you so very much, each and every one of you,
Linda

Take what time you need. Two years ago I lost my Dad on Fat Tuesday, and my Mom a month later from surprise cancer. Dropped off the edge of the world and just now climbing back up. Sat in my car for a year...only place I felt somewhat together. Mmm...not recommended. Time and sharing memories with those who knew you both helped. Time.
Bless you. Hang in, you're home here. Keep checking in. You've got a real guardian angel now.

I just came by to clarify something. I was talking to a friend and I said she was a single mother, and they said "I thought your mother was married!" And I realized how "single mother" could be misunderstood. So, let me say, she was married to my father when I was born. They were divorced when I was two.
Funny how I didn't catch that when I wrote it. And it probably doesn't matter to anyone here, but SHE would have had a fit if she thought someone thought she was a never married mother!
