Mow down all the homes that have been foreclosed on. Let the banks take the losses that they deserve.
This will freeze property values.
Rebuild.

I'd rather see some of the homeless folks get a home....I can't fathom why anyone would want to destroy a pefectly good house while folks are living in shelters and on the street.

Banks aren't about to turn those homes over to the needy so tearing them down and rebuilding would at least provide jobs and stimulate the economy.
Banks aren't maintaining the foreclosed homes and aren't paying taxes on them as well.
If you want to revolt, there you go. You will have to figure the rest out yourself because I don't want to set off the NSA keyword searching bots.

Here is another important key fact, we didn't get to where we are today overnight, to correct our collective problems will also not happen overnight. In a way that's okay, gives us a little time to make sure we are making the right corrections or 'changes' to get back to the basics. Lets see, the basics, a fair wage for a days work and all those other 'freedoms'.
Hmm, wonder if I'm living in a 'dream world' like some of you folks. ![]()

If a person doesn't have enough income to house themselves, giving them a home just means that home will deteriorate because they don't have any money to maintain the upkeep on that home. Living in a severely depressed area, I can tell you it's pretty sad what's happening...people are totally gutting their houses that are in foreclosure, pawning the appliances and anything that they can get cash for since they're on their way out anyway.
Here's a story from my local newspaper that tells how things are going here, in that regard: http://www.beacononlinenews.com/news/daily/1834

This is the trap they want you in. Stop fearing, be calm cool and collect, and we can get out of this. Otherwise we can do it over and over and over.
but wait, Letterman told a bad joke. STOP THE PRESSES!

Unfortunately, we are daily flooded with the next "must do emergency" with the main goal so that no one has time to count for accountability.
The emergency stimulus had to be rushed through so that "unemployment would not go over 8%" Hmmmm, how did that work out?
We had to sign the Bank and TARP bills so that the banks could get the "toxic" assets off the books. In case you haven't noticed, they still have them and the program has been a bust.
The Home Mortgage act would freexe and start to reverse foreclosure through refinanacing etc. Today, 12715 homes have been refinanced through this program and the May foreclose rate was at all al time high. Hmmmmm, not working to well.
But skip all that, we have to get the health care through in a real rush to save trillions! Hurry, hurry hurry, act now, don't delay!

Ken, Don't forget that we have to rebuild our power grid to save all the money being wasted.
If we get an efficient system, they won't be making the same profit they used to becuase they will lose all that profit related to volume. They will raise the rates so they can get that new luxery liner to replace their 2 year old luxery liner.
Greed is the enemy. Greed is not good and anyone preaching otherwise needs to be tarred and feathered.

kenwas you are pointing out yet another unforunate fact, the folks we vote for to represent 'our' interests back in Washington aren't doing such a good job of it. Hmmm, wonder if the voters will remember that for the next 'election'?

True...so givem jobs keeping up the foreclosed homes...TEACH them how.

Very true. Look at 9/11 and the Bush regime.

Agreed. How about give them 6 months to a solution, and if none reached, they have to return their salaries? What I hate the most about the Health Care thing is that everything is being laid at the Doctor's doorstep. We're guilty. B.S.
Take a look at Insurance Co. CEO's, Pharmaceutical Co. CEO's, Hospital Administrator, Politician, etc salaries over the past 10-20 years. You'll understand who's getting the bucks. It ain't the Doctors.

But, if you think we are, and if you think the most highly regulated Professionals in the USA are getting anything but grief and blame, you're wrong. Hey...I'm ok with free markets, which isn't what's happening for the Doctors.
If you're tired of the crap your Insurance Co. is handing you, remember: That's stockholder driven medical care. You don't like it? Neither do I. DO something about it.
Reply #55 Friday, June 12, 2009 5:31 PM
Doc, I don't see anyone blaming the doctors. They are just a cog in a broken system.
Insurance companies are the biggest problem. They take billions of dollars from the system in the interest of profit. I know you know this but some people actually believe the shit they hear. Ins. Companies are not needed. They do not benefit us at all. They benefit themselves.
I am open to a regulated pay scale for those in the health industry. If you are a doctor and you are all about making money, then you can do that in the private sector. If your not a good doctor and can't make it in the pricvate sector then tough shit, you are not a good doctor, you will work for scale. ![]()

They benefit the execs and stockholders.
Probably because you don't have the responsibility for lives, nor the investment it took in time and money to earn it.
I say deport him. Just gimme all his skins.
Yeah. That works. On TV.
V started all this. I hate him. He's on the list. Forever.

Ins. Companies are not needed. They do not benefit us at all. They benefit themselves.
Which is why they have a lobby that is spending millions to prevent the option of government insurance from becoming a reality. This is from Fox news:
Among other lobbying groups in the fight: Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group Inc. has spent $1.5 million in the first quarter, up 34 percent from $1.1 million in the same quarter last year; Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna Inc. spent $809,793, up 41 percent from last year; and Indianapolis-based WellPoint Inc. and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana Inc. both saw first-quarter spending rise 16 percent to $1.2 million and $370,000, respectively.
Pfizer Inc., the world's biggest drugmaker, spent more than $6.1 million lobbying the government in the first quarter on health care reform, drug coverage provided under various government programs and other matters, according to a recent disclosure report.
Here's a start in fixing what's broken...no more lobbiest for ANYTHING. Let the voters, themselves, talk to their politicians, rather than this hired muscle.

Thanx for confirming what I wrote, Karen. Isn't it time to forbid PAC entry to Washington? Isn't it time to forbid their activity?
Isn't it time to isolate the politicians from their heroin (money)? Federalize the elections. NO direct contribution to any candidate greater than $100. No corporate contributions at all.
Wanna make it happen? Go on a tax boycott.

If there were a way to seperate the Docs that care about there patients from the Docs that care about there wallets, I would love to hear your opinion.
I have built houses for many Doctors. Some are the best people for the job but some don't belong doing what they are doing. They are more concerned about their car than their patients.
I don't want to upset you but I have seen the good and bad. 3 years ago I had a doctor fall asleep during my visit. I shit you not. Right there in front of my eyes while I was explainig my back problems to him. He misdiagnosed me and I had steroid injections into my spine because he didn't read the MRI correctly.
Just like anything else, some characters get in that shouldn't be there.
If you are a good Doc that cares about your patients then you can't be paid enough.
Karen, lose the black ops fantasy and you can be my VP. ![]()

Doc, how many people in your profession practicing in this country at the present time invested the time and money in their medical degree that you did? I've transcribed for 6 different transcription companies, in the past 13 years, one of those companies being the second largest in the business, and I can tell you, most of the doctors practicing in this country got their degrees from countries whose medical schools cost thousands less than they do in this country, some didn't pay a cent because higher education is a benefit from the countries they came from, and then they come over here to rake in the big bucks, because we have a doctor shortage here, because the cost of OUR college tuition is through the roof. True, they will have to perform residency and internship here, but still...how many of our own citizens are losing an opportunitity for jobs due to the fact that here in this country we can't compete with the foreign competition's cost of an education?
How many programmers are out on the street right now because their jobs were devalued and they were replaced by a foreign import with less college debt here on an H1b visa?
