Skins for Rocketdock and Objectdock

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 by G3mpi3 | Discussion: Docks

Hey everyone,

I am relatively new here but I have submitted many dock backgrounds and they can be found in my gallery http://g3mpi3.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx.  I have just recently learned that there is a conflict between rocketdock and objectdock. I have been making my skins for rocketdock and it seems they are all messed up when they are applied to objectdock. Is there some way to make them work for both docks? I don't really want to go through and copy each dock skin I have made and then configure the .ini file for them to fit objectdock.

I would really like to share my work with everyone.......no matter what dock program they are using.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. G3.

Certain skins work well between the two different softwares.  But that is the problem, you are working with two different softwares.  It comes down to the image design.  If you design the images so that they will work with both docks, then you shouldn't have to do to much with the configuration files.  Practice make perfect in this case but you won't always be able to do them both without having to do some tweaking between them.

Something I've thought about starting is to include rocketdock versions in all my docks, so that both can be used depending on what dock the person uses.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to start doing that. I guess I can take the extra time....*sigh*
