Changing boot skins in XP

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 by moebob24 | Discussion: Tutorials

I just downloaded a boot skin and realized I don't have a clue on how to install it. I am guessing that it is in some system folder.

Any help is greatly apreciated. Thanks

You need to install Bootskin Xp first:Stardock.com - Your Edge In Software

There's more than 1 version of bootskin so if it don't work try another,it's below the two d/loads at the link boss gave,as for install of bootskins just double tap the skin you want installed,if it's a folder just put it in the skins folder of BS

Only compat issues is whether or not BS works with your version of BIOS or not if your lucky one of them will

some people have never gotten any version to work

some people have no trouble getting any version to work

some people found installing one version over the other caused it to work

some people found installing one version over the other caused more work

just in case it BSODs on you, remember this:

boot into safe mode and remove \windows\system32\drivers\vidstub.sys.
