Here is where cache is on my XP system. C:documents and Setting/owner/local settings/application data/stardock/desktopX.
That gets me to the cache for objects and widgets. Select which one you want find the widget and or object and delete it. Then try running the widget or object again.
RomanDA showed me this, hope it helps.
EDIT: Not sure if this helps with a DX program problem, it does clear the cache for the individual widget or object.

DX builder mode crashes on me every time if I launch it from the welcome screen(create) you show in the OP. Try going to Program Files>Stardock>ObjectDesktop>DesktopX and find the DesktopX Builder.exe and run it from that.Make a shortcut to it or just add it to quicklaunch for easy access.
I think it is a bug in Vista, that I hope is resolved with the next DX update. Thanks to TAFKAPDJ for that tip.
