View edits?

So I was just browsing my threads and all of a sudden there appeared a "view edits" button, next to the karma and report buttons on replies that had been edited...
Has it always been there?
Am I the only one with this magical power?
Now I can go back and see what someone actually wrote the first time?
So be careful what you say.
